YRC Theatres in Gloucester Undergoes Major Renovation

YRC Cinemas located in the York River Crossing Shoppping Center on US Route 17 in the Hayes section of Gloucester County. Virginia is at the forefront of changing the way people see movies. In addition to a major $200,000.00 lobby renovation, YRC is negotiating a partnership with one of the world's most experienced provider in digital cinema to convert entirely to a cutting-edge all-digital format by Spring 2008. This vanguard hi-tech all-digital format will give YRC Cinemas the ability to show alternative content and "Real D", the premier digital 3D experience, with incredible clarity and detail, and provide the highest quality movie theatre presentation available.

The lobby renovations, scheduled for completion in mid August, include the addition of a mezzanine-level cafe area, new multi-windowed Box Offices at the theater's entrance, an innovative digital concession menu system, preview screen with barstool seating and an expanded video game arcade.

YRC Cinemas is also expanding its concession offerings with new and exciting products. YRC Cinemas will now feature Hot-out-of-the-oven Connie's Pizza; the official pizza of the Milwaukee Brewers, a new condiments bar and hot soft-pretzel buns to compliment its Nathan's Famous All-Beef Hot Dogs as well as the recently inroduced delicious hot Cinnabon CinnaPretzels with dipping icing.

The new sleek interior which combines dramatic lighting, color and first-class design elements will greatly enhance the overall movie-going experience and the innovative design will create a more modern feel and look to this already state-of-the-art first run Movie Theater.

The YRC Cinemas 8-Plex movie theatre in the York River Crossing Shopping Center on US Route 17 in the Hayes section of Gloucester County, Virginia announces the completion of a major $250,000 renovation.

The centerpiece of the renovation is the conversion of the largest of its 8 theatres to a state of the art stadium seating surround sound theatre, which will open Wednesday November 26 with the showing of Dr. Seuss’ Cat In The Hat. “This theatre will be one of the finest theatres in the State of Virginia,” said Bobby Freeman, owner and operator of the complex. “Not only have we converted the seating to the stadium format, but we have installed the latest in screen, speaker and projector technology to create a state of art movie watching experience”, said Freeman. The new Surround Stadium Theatre will have a vastly larger “MDI High-Gain” curved screen to enhance the visual imaging of movies. In addition, a “Pana-Stereo Surround EX” Sound system with 17 JBL theatre speakers will provide the latest in digital surround sound, bringing to life the latest in Hollywood sound technology.

“We will use our new Surround Stadium Theatre to showcase the newest Hollywood releases on a weekly basis” says YRC theatre manager Elene Brown. “Our daily movie listing in the newspapers and on our web site will show what movies will play each day in our new theatre”.

In addition to the Surround Stadium Theatre, YRC will upgrade and replace carpeting, interior furnishings and bathrooms throughout the facility to keep YRC Cinemas an exciting and enjoyable movie going experience.

“Over the last year we have converted all of our theatres to digital sound, and within the next 2 years we will convert all of our theatres to stadium seating. It is our intention to always maintain our YRC Cinemas 8-Plex in Gloucester as a state of the art first-run movie experience of the highest entertainment quality”, says Freeman.
